Greetings and Salutations! We hope that this post finds you happy, healthy and well!
We talk a lot about health and wellness (and chocolate and bacon…) but we felt that we wanted to shed some light on what health and wellness really is.
We found a source that we really liked that shed that light and we decided to extract what and condense in order to convey how Kate and I perceive health, wellness and balance. So, we compiled the following information from a publication from http://www.pnf.org/ that does a great job of doing just that.
Rather than “rewording” we wanted to leave the text mostly as it was written (no plagiarism here, please and thank you)
* NOTE: Kate and I would like to add Mental, Psychological and Financial to the list.
What would you add to the list?
Wow, we love this! It really encompasses the idea of balance being integral to our health, wellness and well being! It really seems like we can take for granted just how much there is to balance and how easy it is to find yourself suffering from health issues and becoming out of balance and unwell!
It is not just about eating right and exercising. Wellness requires a balance of all of the above. If our occupational wellness is compromised it affects our emotional wellness and may have negative physical effects. Not every person eating perfectly and exercising loves their job, is happy and may actually be unhealthy.
There are no guarantees that your “occupational” wellness will always be in balance. If you are experiencing a difficult time at work, rely on the tools you acquire to maintain balance or re-balance in your “spiritual or social” wellness. The ability to “make up the difference elsewhere” may be integral in getting you through the difficult time and may even prevent you from suffering negative physical effects.
In closing, we encourage and challenge you to print think of the “dimensions” of wellness in your life that you are be inspired to do a “wellness check” and assess where and how you want and need to begin or continue your Wellness Makeover process. As noted above, Process means that we never arrive at a point were there is no possibility of improving. It really speaks volumes to the concept that we embrace: Balance is not something you find, it is something that you create.
And if you are having a stressful day, here is a quick ten minute guided meditation to help you slow down and relax.
Stay tuned for tips and trick on ways to create and maintain balance in the various dimension of wellness.

Flu season is upon us once again. How will you be protecting yourself and your family? Did you get a flu shot? Did you know that the flu shot is only 50%-60% effective during seasons that the circulating flu is most like the shot given. Most years you are lucky if the effectiveness is…

So…….I’ve been doing pretty good with my micro goals within the Wellness Quest. Still no Diet Coke, trying to cut out the unsweetened iced tea as well. The tea I have not been able to kick just yet. I HAVE cut way down on the eating out as well. I actually cooked a couple of…
Welcome to our favorite things post. It’s no secret that Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I love finding the perfect gift for everyone I know. I also like getting a great deal, and I especially like getting ca$hback for everything I purchase. I also HATE going to the mall, but I really avoid going…
So, since it’s been a LONG time since my last post, this one might get a bit wordy. ;o) I’d like to talk about goals today. We all have them to some extent, and we all would like to achieve these goals we set for ourselves. My goal at the beginning of this year was…
