As you may or may not know about us (Dawn & Kate) by now, we are not perfect (GASP!).  We do not sip on coconut water and kale smoothies all day.  We are not always skipping over rainbows with songs of joy in our hearts. We are both terrible at being regular with exercise.  And we like bacon!  We could keep going, but this is not a confessional blog post. While we are not perfect we are always trying to create balance through wellness and wellness through balance.  We actually do drink kale smoothies, we just do not drink them all of the time.  If we have bacon, we balance out our other food choices.  How did we come to a point in our lives where we created The Life Balance Team and shared our story?  SO, glad you asked!  We realized that we needed Wellness Makeovers!
“Why?” you ask.  Oh, my!  You are full of questions!
DAWN: While my weight was fine, I felt ill and sad, like a sickly gazelle 😉 I was literally a “dashboard diner” and living on cheese burgers and diet cokes several times a day, several days a week.  My allergies were out of control, my intestinal health was terrible and I was depressed.

KATE: I lived on snickers and diet cokes for a LONG time. That was not a good weight loss plan. I am notorious for NOT eating and never finishing my meals. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis about 15 years ago. That has been an interesting journey. Thanks to my autoimmune thyroid, I now look more like the StaPuff Marshmallow man than my old self. The goofed up hormones have caused problems including PCOS, insulin resistance, hair loss and infertility. So much fun. For my return to health, I am trying to eat right (not always succeeding), taking supplements that are depleted by the autoimmune issues, and trying to take better care of myself.
